All the Presidents' Birthdays

Use the links below to find out the birth date of each U.S. President.  Click on the flag below to print out the activity sheet.  Follow the directions below to create a graph of the information you have found!

Activity Sheet

Gather the Data:
1.  Print out the activity sheet.

2.  Use the links above to find the birth date of each U.S. President.

3.  Enter the information you find on your activity sheet.

Organize the Data:

1.  Open Appleworks

2.  Click on SPREADSHEET

3.  Name column A Birth Month. 

4.  Name column B Total

5.  Enter the names of each month, as shown below.

6.  Enter the total number for each month in the Total column (column B).

Graph the Data :

Make a graph of the data by plotting the above points, letting the x axis represent the Birth Months and the y axis represent the total number of presidents born in that month.   Do this on separate paper. 

You can also create a line graph using the computer!

1. Highlight all the data you enter into the spreadsheet:  Click, hold and drag=highlight

2.  Click on OPTIONS from the menu bar

3.  Scroll to MAKE GRAPH

4.  Choose LINE GRAPH or BAR GRAPH

Analyze the Data:

1. Which month were the most Presidents born in?
    
2.  Is there a month that no presidents were born in?
    
3. Which month has the least number of Presidents born in it?
